About Burke Lake Park

Burke Lake Park is a county-run park in Fairfax Station, Virginia, spread over roughly 888 acres. Visitors can ride a miniature train and carousel, play mini golf, picnic, fish, boat, bike, or take a tour boat on the lake. A lake trail of about 4.7 miles circles the water, and campgrounds allow stays of a weekend or longer. The park also runs family classes, camps, and seasonal events such as holiday and Halloween days. The land was bought by the federal government in the 1950s for a planned airport before Dulles was chosen instead.
