About Huntley Meadows Park

Huntley Meadows is the biggest park run by the Fairfax County Park Authority. It sits in the Hybla Valley section of the county, south of Alexandria. Visitors can explore a wetland that beavers created, walk a boardwalk over it, and use wildlife observation platforms. Forest, wildflower meadows, and wetland habitat make up the landscape, and the park draws many birds, amphibians, and plants that are less common in the region. A visitor center, a historic house, and an interpretive trail system round out the site.
