About Calverton National Cemetery

Calverton National Cemetery covers 1,045 acres on eastern Long Island, the largest area of any national cemetery in the United States. It opened in 1978 and holds more than 7,000 burials a year, so you may see a service in progress. A memorial pathway is lined with monuments to veterans, most of them for the wars of the 20th century. The grounds are open daily from sunrise to sunset, and a kiosk helps you find a grave. Visitors are asked to keep a respectful manner.
