Chatham's 1887 railroad depot, a wooden Railroad Gothic building with an octagonal tower, served trains until passenger service ended in 1931 and has been the Chatham Railroad Museum since 1960. Inside are hundreds of exhibits, including New York Central model locomotives from the 1939 World's Fair and a diorama of the 1915 rail yard. Kids can try the ticket office, a Morse code simulator and rotary phones, and everyone can explore the restored 1910 caboose. Entry is by donation.
