This linear state park in southeastern Pennsylvania preserves a historic canal and the towpath that runs beside it. The route follows the Delaware River between Easton and Bristol and covers roughly 59 miles. Along the way visitors find a 50-acre pond, many miles of river shoreline, and a group of eleven river islands. The scenery changes from riverside stretches to farm fields and older towns. The park office is in Upper Black Eddy, and the Locktender's House in New Hope offers information on canal history. Horses are not permitted on the towpath. Some towpath sections are closed while infrastructure work proceeds. The park has no overnight facilities, but campgrounds are available nearby.
