Nockamixon State Park covers 5,286 acres in northern Bucks County around Lake Nockamixon, a 1,450-acre reservoir on Tohickon Creek that opened to the public in 1973. Boating and fishing are the main draws, with a marina and boat rentals, but swimming is not allowed in the lake. Instead there is a swimming pool with slides, which charges admission. Cabins, disc golf and more than 20 miles of horse-friendly trails round it out. Entry to the park itself is free.
