Discovery Museum in Acton combines STEAM exhibits from two earlier museums into one building meant for little kids, big kids, and adults. Its outdoor area, Discovery Woods, adds a fully accessible treehouse and nature playscape that is open year-round. The museum also offers free admission hours for families whose children have autism, hearing or vision loss, or sensory sensitivities. Families can attend free on the first Friday of each month and on every Friday during summer, and the museum hosts birthday parties and events. Its programs also reach schools through in-school STEM workshops.
