About Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology

George Peabody's gift founded this Harvard museum in 1866, and it is one of the oldest and largest museums of anthropology. The collection counts over 1.2 million objects and about 500,000 photographs, and the permanent Hall of the North American Indian looks at 19th-century Indigenous objects. One $20 adult ticket also covers the Harvard Museum of Natural History next door. Massachusetts residents get in free on Sunday mornings until noon and Wednesdays from 3 to 5 p.m.
