Druid Hill Park opened in 1860 as Baltimore's first large municipal park and covers about 745 acres northwest of downtown. The Lakeside Loop Trail circles Druid Lake, an earthen-dammed reservoir built in 1863, and the Jones Falls Trail runs through the park. The Rawlings Conservatory at 3100 Swann Drive keeps a Palm House built in 1888, and the Maryland Zoo, opened in 1876, sits inside the park too. There are also tennis courts, a pool and a disc golf course.
