Elk Rock State Park sits along Lake Red Rock, the largest body of water in Iowa. Visitors come for boating, fishing, camping, and hiking. The park has an equestrian campground with horse stalls and a riding arena, plus a non-equestrian campground. About 13 miles of multi-use trails support horseback riding, mountain biking, and winter cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Two boat ramps and a boat dock serve the lake. Anglers can target bluegill, crappie, largemouth bass, and channel catfish. A shelter can be reserved for group meals.
