San Diego, CA
Fashion Valley is an upscale open-air mall on Friars Road in Mission Valley, San Diego, developed by Ernest W. Hahn and opened on October 12, 1969. It opened with Robinson's, Buffum's and The Broadway as anchors, and Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus were added in 1981. With about 1.72 million square feet of leasable space, Wikipedia calls it the largest mall in San Diego, and a 1997 renovation brought it to about 200 stores. Simon Property Group is a 50 percent owner and manages it.
