Flat Rock Brook is a large forested preserve in Englewood, New Jersey, set on the western slope of the Palisades. Visitors can follow self-guided trails through woods that lead to a stream, wetlands, a pond, and open meadows. The center holds interpretive exhibits on local habitats, including an interactive display about the preserve's ecosystems, and it runs year-round programs for schools and the public. The organization was founded in 1973 by local volunteers focused on saving the land, and it still depends heavily on donors and volunteers.
