99 Warren Street, Brookline, MA 02445 · Brookline, MA
This National Park Service site preserves Fairsted, the Brookline home and working office of Frederick Law Olmsted, a pioneer of landscape design often called the father of American parkmaking. Olmsted moved here in 1883 and set up what became the first professional landscape design firm of its kind. His sons and later partners carried his ideas forward for decades. Visitors can walk the grounds, see the drafting rooms, and explore the archive of plans, drawings, and photographs the firm produced over its long history.
