24 Haley Farm Lane, Groton, CT 06340 · Groton, CT
Haley Farm preserves 272 acres of colonial-era farmland on a point of land reaching into Long Island Sound, with stone walls, old foundations and freshwater ponds. Paved, gravel and dirt trails cross the old pastures and are popular with mountain bikers, birders and dog walkers. A bridge over the railroad links it to Bluff Point State Park, for over 1,000 protected acres together. Groton residents fought off a housing plan in the 1960s, and the state bought the farm in 1970.
