Haw River State Park

Environmental education-focused state park with wetland boardwalks and piedmont forest trails near Greensboro.

339 Conference Center Drive, Browns Summit, NC 27214 · Browns Summit, NC

About Haw River State Park

The park centers on the Summit, a live-in environmental education and conference center used for retreats and meetings. Visitors can walk trails and a boardwalk that lead into wetlands and a floodplain swamp. A second day-use area, the Iron Ore Belt Access, offers wetland views and hiking through oak-hickory woods typical of the Piedmont. The Summit's education staff runs themed summer day camps, and the park hosts an overnight camp for grandparents and grandchildren.
