About Hickory Hill

Hickory Hill is a historic home in Thomson, Georgia, run by the Watson-Brown Foundation. Politician and author Thomas E. Watson bought the property in 1900 and reworked it over several years before moving in. Its Greek Revival touches and large front portico reflect those renovations. Visitors can tour the house by appointment or as available, and walk the grounds, which include a sundial timeline, a beech allee, a fountain, pavilions, an orchard, and outbuildings. The site also offers educational programs and a virtual tour for those who cannot visit in person.
