About J. A. Skinner State Park

Skinner State Park surrounds Mount Holyoke, the western end of the Mount Holyoke Range above Hadley. At the top stands the Summit House, a hotel that opened in 1851 and was restored by the state, with views across the Connecticut River Valley. You can reach the summit by an auto road or by trail; the park has more than 40 miles of trails, including part of the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail. Parking costs $5 for Massachusetts cars and $20 for others from May to October.
