3100 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 · Washington, DC
This small memorial garden on Massachusetts Avenue honors Kahlil Gibran, the Lebanese-born poet who wrote The Prophet in 1923. A bronze of Gibran by Gordon Kray stands at its center, with a star-shaped fountain and limestone benches engraved with his lines, such as "Work is Love Made Visible." It was dedicated on May 24, 1991, and is cared for by the National Park Service as part of Rock Creek Park. Entry is free and the paths are wheelchair accessible.
