This Morris County Park Commission reservation spans thousands of acres of hills in Jefferson Township. Visitors come for off-road cycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and wildlife watching. About 27 miles of multi-use trails suit a range of hiking abilities, including a route to Headley Overlook, one of the highest points in Morris County. Campers can choose RV sites with paved pads or tent sites with raised platforms and Adirondack shelters. Picnic areas, a shelter, a softball field, and a quiet pond area round out the offerings. The park was first acquired in 1960 and is named for an early New Jersey governor and state supreme court justice.
