About Maumee Bay State Park

Maumee Bay State Park covers 1,336 acres on the Lake Erie shore about five miles east of Toledo. It has two sand beaches, one on Lake Erie and one on a 57-acre inland lake for canoes and sailboats, plus a lodge, cabins, a campground and a golf course. A 2-mile accessible boardwalk leads through marsh to an observation tower added in 2025, and more than 300 bird species have been recorded here. The Trautman Nature Center has exhibits on the Great Black Swamp, and a 5-mile paved bike path links to the City of Oregon trail. Anglers come for walleye and yellow perch.
