About Milwaukee Art Museum

The Milwaukee Art Museum sits on the lakefront in Milwaukee and holds a collection of nearly 35,000 works of art. Its galleries cover American, modern, contemporary, European, Haitian, design, prints and drawings, photography, and folk and self-taught art. Visitors can also use the Art Studio, which is included with general admission, and the Lakeshore Café, which serves food and drinks without requiring an admission ticket. The museum's white modern building, designed by Santiago Calatrava, faces Lake Michigan and includes the Quadracci Pavilion and the Burke Brise Soleil, a movable sunshade system.
