About Milwaukee County Zoo

Milwaukee County runs this 190-acre zoo, which opened at its current site in 1958 and holds about 3,100 animals from 350 species. It keeps one of the largest groups of bonobos outside Africa, plus gorillas, African elephants and a walk-through aviary. Rides cost extra: the carousel is $3, the Sky Safari $4 and the Safari Train $5. Parking is $15 per car, paid by license plate on site, and tickets cost less when you buy online.
