About National Firearms Museum

Housed in the headquarters building of the National Rifle Association, this museum traces firearm development across roughly seven centuries, with a focus on how guns relate to American independence and everyday life. Its collection is run by the NRA's museum division and is partly supported by the NRA Foundation. Exhibits are organized into galleries covering early arms, colonial and revolutionary periods, the Civil War, the American West, and modern firearms. The museum is one of two NRA collections; the other is the National Sporting Arms Museum in Springfield, Missouri.
