Walk up to an 81-foot granite monument to the Mayflower Pilgrims, tucked into a quiet Plymouth neighborhood a short drive from Plymouth Rock.
72 Allerton Street, Plymouth, MA 02360 · Plymouth, MA
This 81-foot monument honors the Mayflower passengers and is thought to be the largest solid granite monument in the country. A figure of Faith stands on top, with seated figures for Morality, Law, Education and Liberty around the base and the passenger names carved on the sides. It was dedicated in 1889 and is now cared for by the state with Plymouth Rock as Pilgrim Memorial State Park. Entry is free, and you can bring a picnic to the lawn. Park inside the gate when it is open, or on the street.
