Work on this downtown Little Rock building began in 1833, and it later served as the seat of Arkansas government. The museum now presents Arkansas history from statehood to the present, looks after the historic structure, and cares for artifacts that support those goals. Visitors can view the exhibits during published weekday and Sunday hours, and general admission is free.
