The site, run as Johnston Farm & Indian Agency, covers Ohio history from prehistoric peoples through the canal era. Its centerpiece is the home and farm of John Johnston, a farmer and U.S. Indian Agent for western Ohio, kept much as it looked in 1829. A modern museum modeled on a frontier blockhouse shows the story of Eastern Woodland Indians and the Pickawillany village site. Visitors can also take a ride on a replica 70-foot canal boat pulled by mules, and the park includes a 200-acre grounds area.
