224 West Cherokee Avenue, Cartersville, GA 30120 · Cartersville, GA
This Victorian mansion in Cartersville, Georgia, was once the home of preacher Samuel Porter Jones. After local residents pushed to save it, Bartow County bought the property in 1978 and opened it as a house museum. Exhibits center on writings and keepsakes connected to Jones and to Rebecca Latimer Felton, a Bartow County figure who became the first woman to sit in the U.S. Senate. The site is wheelchair accessible, with tours on set weekday hours and Friday visits arranged by appointment.
