About Thompson Park

Thompson Park is a 667-acre county park established in 1968 on land donated from the estate of Geraldine Livingston Thompson. It houses the Monmouth County Park System headquarters and a rebuilt visitor center, which replaced a mansion lost to fire in 2006. The park includes about 14 miles of trails, a 4.9-mile paved loop, and a historic racing stable open seasonally. Visitors can also find a theater in a converted barn, a creative arts center with a gallery, tennis and pickleball courts, a playground, and an off-leash dog area.
