Wall Doxey is one of Mississippi's original state parks, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1935 and opened in 1938 as Spring Lake. It sits 7 miles south of Holly Springs and about 40 miles from Memphis, around a 60-acre spring-fed lake with cypress in the shallows. A 2.5-mile nature trail circles the lake, and the Spring Creek and Turkey Hollow disc golf courses are free to play. There are RV and tent sites, cabins, picnic pavilions and a boat launch. Entry is $2 per person, and children 5 and under get in free.
