Washington Park is a large South Side park laid out by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, named for George Washington in 1881. At its southeast edge stands Lorado Taft's Fountain of Time from 1922, a cloaked Father Time facing a procession of 100 human figures across the water. The DuSable Museum of African American History is in the park's 1910 administration building. There is also a lagoon, an arboretum, an aquatic center and cricket and softball fields. The park is open 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
