A small Maryland state park built around the site of the famous Wye Oak, a giant white oak that fell in 2002.

This compact Talbot County park protects the grounds where the Wye Oak once grew and a stream valley behind it. A pavilion displays a section of the fallen trunk and marks the original tree site, and visitors can see it at any daylight hour. Beside the tree stands a restored colonial-era brick schoolhouse, once a one-room school and believed to be the second oldest in the county. Local garden club members restored it in 1952, and it now holds period furnishings such as a schoolmaster's desk and a dunce stool. The park also has a picnic area and a family challenge course.
