Audubon Park covers about 350 acres of Uptown New Orleans, stretching from St. Charles Avenue to the Mississippi River across from Tulane and Loyola universities. Its present form largely follows a design by John Charles Olmsted, with old live oaks, a 1.8-mile paved loop, lagoons, sports fields and a golf course. Look for wading birds on Ochsner Island and the Tree of Life, a live oak planted around 1740 next to the zoo.
