Black Hawk State Park sits around Black Hawk Lake in Lake View, Sac County, Iowa. The park is known for its glacial lake and for structures many built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, which now serve as picnic and event sites. Visitors can hike a nature trail with marked plant-life stops, ride or walk a long multi-use trail, boat on the lake, fish from a universally accessible pier, swim at day-use beaches in summer, play disc golf or mini-golf, and stay at two campgrounds with electric and non-electric sites. Lake View also hosts a July water carnival and a February golf event at the lake.
