Cowpens National Battlefield is a unit of the National Park Service located east of Chesnee, South Carolina, near the North Carolina state line. The land was used as pasture when the battle took place. Daniel Morgan's patriot army surrounded the flanks of Banastre Tarleton's British force using a double envelopment, a tactic that secured the American win. The park commemorates this Revolutionary War engagement and includes a visitor center, monuments, and historic structures such as the Robert Scruggs House.
