About DAR Museum

The DAR Museum sits within the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution headquarters in downtown Washington. It gathers, protects, and explains objects that were used or created in American homes, using the idea of home to prompt talk about the country's varied experiences. Visitors can tour 31 period rooms, view changing and permanent exhibits, and see a collection of more than 20,000 objects, including quilts, needlework, and silver. A current exhibition marks the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding through firsthand accounts from people of that era. The museum also offers regular programs, guided period-room tours, and online activities for all ages.
