One of the most affecting museum experiences in America. The three-floor Permanent Exhibition traces the Holocaust from the Nazi rise to power through liberation using artifacts, film, survivor testimony, and a railcar you walk through; the identification card you carry pairs your visit with a real person's story. Admission is free, but the Permanent Exhibition requires a free timed-entry pass, reserve online ahead, or try for same-day passes released at 7 a.m. Recommended for ages 11 and up.
