About E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park

E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park covers 554 acres of former farmland and the grounds of the old Central State Hospital on the outskirts of Louisville. It is a day-use park with no camping. The 1.25-mile Goose Creek Nature Trail loops through meadow toward the creek, and a 1-mile fitness trail has 10 exercise stations. There is a free outdoor archery range, free tennis and pickleball courts, a summer pool and splash pad ($12 ages 18 and up, $10 ages 3 to 17), a BMX track and a 4.2 km orienteering course.
