The El Paso Museum of History tells the story of the US-Mexico border region at the Pass of the North, from before Spanish contact to today, in six galleries with bilingual permanent and changing exhibitions. The city-run museum began as a cavalry museum in 1974 and moved into its downtown building in 2007. Its Digie, a large touchscreen wall opened in 2015, lets you browse local photos and stories, and the yearly Wall of Giants honors people and places that shaped El Paso, such as Don Haskins and Fort Bliss. A current show, Mountain of Gold, covers the region's Asian communities.
