About Garner State Park
Garner State Park covers 1,774 acres of Hill Country with 2.9 miles of the Frio River running through it. You can swim or tube the river, rent a paddle boat or kayak, and hike 16 miles of trails, some climbing to lookouts. Since the 1940s people have gathered at the concession building on summer evenings for a jukebox dance. The park often fills up, especially from Memorial Day to Labor Day, so reserve a day pass before you go.
