Gay City State Park spans parkland between Hebron and Bolton in eastern Connecticut. Visitors can swim at a lakeside beach, hike many trails, fish, bike, picnic, and camp with a youth group permit. The park also holds remains of a 19th-century mill village and an old cemetery. Its geology is notable, with rock types and minerals visible along the main trail to the mill site. In winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are popular. The park is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.
