829 Grayson Highland Ln · Mouth of Wilson, VA

Why you should go…

Grayson Highlands sits beside the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area, climbing from 3,698 feet at the entrance to 5,089 feet at Little Pinnacle. Hikers on the open balds often meet the herd of wild ponies introduced in the 1970s; keep your distance, since they bite and kick. About 2.5 miles of the Appalachian Trail cross the park, and its boulder fields hold more than 700 climbing routes.
