Green River Reservoir State Park is a wild, largely undeveloped park in Vermont, built around a 653-acre reservoir with roughly 19 miles of shoreline. The park was created in 1999 from land bought from the Morrisville Water and Light Department. Its 27 remote tent sites can only be reached by boat, and some lie a short paddle from the launch area. Visitors bring their own watercraft, since the park does not rent boats, though outfitters in Morrisville and Stowe do. Swimming, fishing for pickerel, small-mouth bass, bullhead and panfish, and paddling are the main activities. The reservoir is managed as a quiet lake, so only electric motors up to 5 mph and human-powered craft are permitted. Parking is limited and first come, first served, and there is no drinking water in the park.
