About Greenville County Museum of Art

The Greenville County Museum of Art holds the largest public collection of watercolors by Andrew Wyeth, with 88 of his works, along with 117 works by Jasper Johns, who grew up in South Carolina. Its Southern Collection surveys American art with ties to the South, from Federal portraits to pots by the enslaved potter David Drake and paintings by William H. Johnson. The museum has been in its modernist building on College Street since 1974. Admission is free; the Wyeth and Johns works are not always on view, so check current exhibitions before you go.
