About Hammond–Harwood House

The Hammond–Harwood House is a historic house museum on Maryland Avenue in Annapolis. Architect William Buckland designed it in the 1770s, and it is widely viewed as one of the finest surviving colonial houses from the British period. Its design draws on Anglo-Palladian ideas, and the house has been a National Historic Landmark since 1960. Guided tours cover the families and enslaved people who lived there, the building's architecture, and its fine and decorative arts. The museum also hosts lectures, concerts, family programs, and seasonal events throughout the year.
