About Heckscher State Park

Heckscher State Park covers 1,600 acres on the Great South Bay in East Islip, on land that was once 19th-century estates. Four miles of paved multi-use trails wind past picnic groves and open fields, and white-tailed deer are common. You can swim at the bay beaches in summer, launch a boat or kayak, or play the disc golf course. Parking is $8 per car in spring and fall and $10 per car from late June to early September. Waterfront cottages and a campground are open in the warmer months.
