Lake Anna State Park covers 3,127 acres with 10 miles of shoreline on Lake Anna, a 13,000-acre reservoir 25 miles southwest of Fredericksburg. It has a swimming beach, a boat launch, a fishing pond for children and anglers with disabilities, and more than 15 miles of trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding. The land was once the Goodwin Gold Mine, and the visitor center covers that history while rangers run gold panning programs and mine tours. Parking is $7 per car, or $10 on weekends April to October, and summer weekends often fill the lots, so arrive early.
