Lincoln State Park sits in southern Indiana and centers on the boyhood years of the 16th president. The park has roughly ten miles of hiking trails, two lakes, and a nature center that covers early settler life in the region. Visitors can tour the Colonel Jones Home, camp, rent cabins or group cottages, and fish or paddle. Many of the park's facilities were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 1930s. The park was established in 1932 as a memorial to Lincoln's mother, and the Little Pigeon Creek Baptist Church and Cemetery, where his sister is buried, lies within its boundaries. The park's Lake Lincoln was scheduled to close in July 2025 for dam repairs, so check the park page for current conditions.
