About National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial

Dedicated in 1991, this memorial in Judiciary Square lists the names of U.S. law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, from frontier sheriffs to the 72 officers who died on September 11, 2001. A reflecting pool sits in the middle of a 3-acre park, and each of the four entrances has a bronze lion guarding its cubs. Directories at the entrances give each officer's panel and line, and pencils are provided for name rubbings. It is open 24 hours a day and free to visit.
