About National Museum of Mexican Art

The National Museum of Mexican Art sits in Harrison Park in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood. It focuses on Mexican and Chicano art and culture, showing works from ancient times to the present on both sides of the border. Its current exhibitions include a 40th annual Day of the Dead show drawn from its permanent collection, and the museum also runs family, school, and teen programs, tours, and events. Visitors can check out free sensory bags at the front desk, and the galleries and shop are all on the main floor. Admission is free, and the museum is open Tuesday through Sunday with extended hours on the first Wednesday of each month.
