About Newport State Park

Newport State Park covers roughly 2,300 acres of forest and includes about 11 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and 30 miles of hiking trails. It is quieter than the busier parts of Door County and offers backpack camping. The park is also designated as a Dark Sky Park, which makes it a good spot for stargazing. Visitors need a vehicle admission pass to enter, and the price depends on the vehicle's plates and the pass length.
